The Wedding

It has been an unbelievably fast trip since we left home. We spent two and a half days driving to Fort Collins Colorado.  We started driving on a rainy afternoon after a visit to the hand doctor for me, and a stop at the pharmacy to pick up a prescription for Michael.  I get to have surgery on my right ring finger when we get home because it keeps getting stuck and I cannot have anymore injections to loosen it up.  The middle finger, which was operated on last October, is still sore and stiff, but at least it doesn't salute anymore.

We got about a half hour from home when the pharmacy called and said Michael could only get the rest of the medication he needed from that pharmacy, not at another one. Whatever, so we turned around and went back to pick it up.  Is this an omen of things to come?  We spent the first night in Legrande Oregon-- totally uneventful. The second night found us in Evanston Wyoming, altitude 7,000 feet, where I had a case of altitude sickness:  nausea, headache, no appetite, drowsy and just plain feeling like crap.  The cure for altitude sickness is to go down at least 1,500 feet as fast as possible. Which we did.  Fort Collins is at 5,000 feet. Thank goodness, I felt so much better.

The wedding day started with a bunch of late morning risers.  It wasn't until Kelly made an appearance that we got serious about what we needed to do.  Kelly is a planner and is quite anal, but flowers???? she hadn't thought about it.  So off we go to look for a basket for flower girl Isabelle to carry.  Check -- one item done.  Ribbon for the flowers obtained, check. Then the flowers.  Poor Kelly was so stressed that I finally sent her away while I conferred with the florist on duty.  Flowers obtained, check.

We got home and I went to work making flower bouquets for each guest, and boutonnieres for the groom and father of the bride.  Then I made the bride's bouquet.  All this was done with time to spare. And here is the happy result:

  1. We are very pleased to see a healthy and happy Kelly. She is a beautiful bride. Will look forward to following my friends as they travel the high seas and explore on behalf of those who must stay closer to home. Be safe and have fun!
